The Real Deal ~ Featured Real Estate Professional
When and how did you become involved in commercial real estate? I started working in the industry as a summer intern while I was in college and was hired by/started with CB Richard Ellis right after I graduated. What project have you enjoyed working on the most and why? I have really enjoyed my time working on the leasing team for both the Chesterbrook and Glenhardie Corporate Centers. Pitcairn Properties purchased the park in 2006 and it has been great working with and learning from everyone involved. What do you like most about your job? I really enjoy the day-to-day interactions with clients and developing new professional relationships, both with clients and fellow brokers in the industry. That being said, I would rank being hung-up on during cold calls and being asked to "leave the building" while canvassing as my least favorite parts of the job! What is your favorite feedback that you have gotten from a client lately? I received an E-mail
from a client thanking me for what they called "taking a sincere
personal interest in our business goals, and developing and implementing
a plan that made sure that those goals were met." In this business
if you are not doing all that you can to meet a client's goals, then
you're doing your client and the reputation of your company a disservice. If you decided to change careers, what would you be doing instead? I'd really like to own my own neighborhood bar/restaurant one day. It's a stressful job and a tough industry, but it can be a lot of fun too if you do it the right way. What are some of your favorite ways to spend free time? I'm a big sports guy, so usually watching anything from college hoops and football, the Birds, and the Phillies. If you could have dinner with any famous person, who would it be and why? I think it would be interesting and entertaining to have dinner with Donald Trump. Even though I think he's one of the most arrogant people on the face of the earth, he's a brilliant businessman and marketing genius and it would be interesting to hear his story and try to bounce ideas and thoughts off of him. ___________________________________________________________ Whether it's a local, regional, national or global assignment, CBRE applies insight, experience, intelligence and resources to help clients make informed business decisions.
