2007 NCBA BROKER BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS
By Phil Burkett AIA, Studio Manager

Wow!!....What an event!!

The Meyer Team extends our sincerest appreciation to all Broker Athletes for making the much ballyhooed, Annual 2007 NCBA (National Council of Broker Athletes) BOWLING CHAMPIONSHIPS a resounding success!!! Approximately 35 brokers competed in this year's highly competitive tournament at Lucky Strike Lanes in Philadelphia. A special Thank You to Melinda Richards, Suzanne Linus and Karen Kovolski of Meyer Design for coordinating all the details for the event.

Congratulations to everyone's favorite former Real Estate Mogul J.R. LONGINO of RAIT for garnering the evening's top hardware. A #1 seed out of the very stocked East Region, JR showed true grit and determination, withstanding the onslaught from an extremely competitive field..(minus Nick Sannelli....see below)... A Lottery Winner out of the West, Jim Wilson of Mahoney Realty improved from last year by taking home Second Place. CBRE's Chris "consistency" Major, adding a 3rd place championship to last year's top four finish.. And the evening's darkhorse clearly came from Mahoney's Keith Fencl, upsetting the defending Champion Kevin Farley of Stockton to grab 4th Place.

With unbelievable resolve and laughable desire, Gola's Nick Sannelli squeaked it out to attain the much controversial, highly debatable, duly undervalued, 2007 NCBA BEST GOLF SCORE CHAMPION!! Congratulations and/or apologies to you Nick...More Photos

Announcements for the next NCBA sanctioned event will be coming soon!!

For those who are wondering more about what the NCBA is about, below is an excerpt from our by-laws.

The NCBA's core ideology consists of two notions: core purpose - the organization's reason for being - and core values - essential and enduring principles that guide this prestigious organization.

Core Purpose
Our purpose is to govern competition in a fair, safe, equitable and sportsmanlike manner, and to integrate interbroker athletics into higher networking so that the Meyer Design experience of the Broker-Athlete is paramount.

Core Values
The Association - through Meyer Design and National office staff - shares a belief in and commitment to:

  • The Broker model of athletics in which Brokers participate as an avocation, balancing their dealmaking, social and athletics experiences.
  • The highest levels of integrity and questionable sportsmanship.
  • The pursuit of excellence in both real-estate and athletics.
  • The supporting role that Division I Broker Athletes play in the higher socializing mission and in enhancing the sense of community and strengthening the identity of the next generation of decision makers.
  • Respect for institutional autonomy and philosophical differences. (don't know what that means, but it sounds official)
