Meyer Design, Inc. recently completed the Dean's Conference Room at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. What's Cool about it? That's no ordinary whiteboard -- it's a Smartboard! This technology offers the capability to save and print notes directly from the board. The Smartboard is connected to a PC located in a hidden rack. Through this PC connection, the user opens the Smartboard software on the PC and writes directly onto the board with a standard dry erase marker. The notes will appear both on the Smartboard and on the PC screen. Need handouts at the end of your meeting? No problem! Your notes can be quickly printed into a handout form for distribution. The content of the board can be saved as a file and either printed, emailed or archived for future reference. Meyer coordinated with AV consultant, Cenero, to incorporate this technology into the design of the space. Cenero also installed, programmed and commissioned the Audiovisual system. The AV system allows attendees to present a multitude of materials including computers and video on a rear projection screen setup. Additionally, the room was programmed to handle audio conferencing and videoconferencing for large audiences. All system specifics are managed via an integrated media control system.
