After Katrina: Meyer Employees Help Rebuild "This time of recovery from the devastation that Hurricane Katrina left in her path has had many challenges. Because of the massive amount of destruction, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. In the Slidell area alone, thousands of homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed. Knowing that people from across the country are taking the time from their jobs and their families to come help us recover means a great deal to our community. As a result of the work that volunteers are doing here, families are able to get back into their homes more quickly than they otherwise would. Along with the helping hands that volunteers bring, they also bring willing hearts and smiling faces, which is exactly what the people of Slidell need. Volunteers provide us with the help we need to rebuild, the encouragement we need to move forward and the hope we need to endure these trying times." ~Michelle
