Milestones

Karen Palecko-Bates
20 years

Since 1984, when Meyer Associates, Inc. was just 6 designers and a drafting table, Karen Palecko (KP) has helped the firm build a solid corporate client base from the ground up. Over her career KP has successfully designed and managed more than 6 million square feet of corporate interiors and has many brokers who often specifically request her to design their spaces.

When she's not tackling the complex puzzles of an interiors project, you can find KP playing tennis with Meyer teammate George Wilson, creating intricate beaded necklaces, playing ball with her dogs, or gardening in the back yard with her husband, Michael.

George Wilson, AIA NCARB
15 years

George Wilson was hired by Meyer Associates, Inc. in 1990 to meet a growing architectural need among Meyer clients. Meyer was searching for an architect who understood developers' needs and who had both interior design and base building experience. It was clear that George Wilson was the right person to lead the firm's new architectural practice. Over his entire career George has managed over 18 million square feet of architectural design including corporate, healthcare and retail facilities. His commitment to producing high-quality design shows through especially in client relationships. George continually goes above and beyond to ensure the client's requirements and expectations are met.

George has a passionate interest in "green" design and is an accredited LEED professional serving as founder and board member of the US Green Building Council's Delaware Valley Chapter. When he's off the clock, you can find George playing tennis with KP, spending quiet evenings at home with his wife Debbie, or visiting his son Eric at Syracuse University or his son Christian, who is in his 3rd year at the University of Maryland.

Dan King, AIA
10 years

Since beginning his "Meyer" career in 1995, Dan King has designed more than 3 million square feet of architectural projects including corporate and healthcare facilities. In his role as Studio Manager over the past 3 years Dan has managed architectural projects for clients like Temple University Health System, Liberty Property Trust, and Brandywine Senior Care, while also administering design direction to Meyer designers, coordinating consultants and giving each client the individual attention they deserve.

Dan's zany sense of humor often keeps us laughing long after the workday is over. Each year, Dan, Mike Stanczak and other Meyer teammates, create an original, humorous game for the Annual Meyer employee Thanksgiving Party, where we can expect the unexpected. Last year, Dan dressed as Elvis and Mike wore a Cupid costume with wings - we'd rather not tell you the rest.

Dan is also actively involved with Engineering Ministries International, a non-profit Christian organization made up of architects, engineers and surveyors who donate their skills to serve the poor and needy around the world. Last year, Dan traveled to Haiti with Meyer teammate Tim Wanaselja, and along with other architects / engineers, they designed a 300-student 2-story school for a mission in Petite Trou De Nippes. This was Dan's 3rd year participating in the program. Previously he traveled to Guatemala to design a nursing residence and Honduras where he helped design an 8-classroom high school.

Dan also enjoys taking family vacations with his wife, Carol, and their 3 little daughters Danielle, Abby and Bethany.

Mike Stanczak
6 years

During his 6 years with Meyer Associates, Inc., Mike Stanczak's infectious enthusiasm has added high energy to our workdays. Mike primarily designs and manages corporate projects for the firm in excess of 100,000 square feet. His creative drive and hands-on project approach has earned him accolades from clients and peers in his role as Studio Manager. His most notable projects / clients include Analytical Graphics, Inc., DeVry University / Michael Mandelbaum, Brandywine Realty Trust, and his on-going work with ICON Clinical Research.

On most weekends, you can find Mike spending quality time with his 2 young sons and his wife, Leigh-Ann. Sometimes he can be found with his 9 Iron on the golf course, goofing off with Dan, or tapping into his creativity to come up with a really cool design for the annual Meyer Holiday card, which is an original work created by Meyer employees each year.

Debra Breslow
5 years

Since starting her "Meyer" career as Project Designer, Debra has demonstrated her talent for generating a multitude of creative ideas, which has earned her increased responsibility and a new position as Creative Manager. Over the past 5 years she has completed more than 1 million square feet of corporate interior design for clients like Berwind Property Group, De Lage Landen and Answerthink, Inc. Clients love her friendly, interactive style and her ability to make them feel completely involved in the design process.

Debra also is a Feng Shui consultant and a member of the International Feng Shui Guild. Her interest in Feng Shui began in 1997 after she attended several local workshops about the subject. Debra traveled to China where she took part in a program of immersion into the Feng Shui world. She attended classes taught by designers and architects, and took extensive excursions throughout mainland China to witness Feng Shui in its original application.

When she's not working or practicing Feng Shui, she enjoys spending her days off with her husband and their 3-year-old son, Dylan.
