Corporate Culture (Part I)
Your space speaks volumes

We all know the familiar clichés about first impressions. But what about second, third, fourth impressions? A company's space either reinforces its message and value proposition or it works against it. Clients, suppliers, employees and recruits all come to your office with a specific opinion of your company, which is either based on what they have heard, seen (website), or experienced (product/service). How about your space, does it confirm your message?

If quality, attention to detail, organization and value is your message, then your entire space needs to reflect this, otherwise people will doubt your message. If your employees are important, if you preach empowerment, if you want to be sophisticated, formal, casual or cool, then your whole space needs to be a sign of this. This is what good design and good architecture accomplishes. Your space will either be "walking" your talk or not. Think about it. What does your space say?

The Real Deal
The True Cost of Green Design
Although, most companies know that sustainable / green design can contribute greatly to conserving the earth's energy resources and also save money over a period of time, what they may not know is that the up-front costs of sustainable green design are no longer a hefty price to pay.
The biggest myth about Green design is that it's very expensive. As LEED and sustainable design become more mainstream in the business world the costs will continue to decrease.

The Client's Interest Comes First
When and how did you become involved in commercial real estate?
In 1975, my Father- in-Law suggested that I meet with Roger Hope of Jackson Cross to interview for a position that was available. The project was representing the I-95 Business Center in Bensalem.
What project have you enjoyed working on the most and why?
The building located at 335-395 Phoenixville Pike in Malvern has been the most fun for me. Creating a strategy to position the building in the market as a Biotechnology "Accelerator" facility and then implementing the plan has been challenging. The net result of the effort is that we have leased two Laboratory Suites over the last six months with a lease out for signature on another unit and two proposals out for two additional Suites.
